Mossley’s Academy boys came back from two goals down to beat Witton Albion in an eight goal thriller at Seel Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Mossley dominated all the early play but missed a host of chances as they carved open Witton’s defence on a number of occasions.

Totally against the run of play Witton stole the lead through Billy Brookshaw. Mossley pressed forward again but it was the visitors who doubled their lead when a breakaway saw Owen Wynne put Witton seemingly in control.

Mossley pulled a goal back just before the break as Taye Rashford fired home.
It took Mossley very little time after the restart to find their scoring boots. Reiss Delaney bagged the equaliser and within a few minutes skipper Curtis Norris edged Mossley in front.

Taye Rashford then stretched the lead further with a quickfire double to complete his hat-trick and put the Lilywhites youngsters in total control. More chances were spurned which in the end gave the score-line a more modest look as Witton pulled back a late consolation goal by Nya Graham-Shea.
